How it all started

Welcome to Stogies, I’m Lewis, and I’m the founder of the brand. This is a small insight into Stogies and why it’s such a passion of mine and my family’s.

As children, my brothers and I were always absolute nutters, forever making ramps in the garden and riding off them with anything on wheels, all trying to outdo each other, and forever injuring ourselves (our poor mother). Many years later, and nothing has changed, still breaking bones on bikes... why? Because we absolutely love the sport and the lifestyle, and tbh nothing in this world beats the feeling of riding mountain bikes.

As a kid, I always struggled at school, always getting rubbish grades and feeling a bit thick compared to all the other bookworms (nerds). BUT! I was excelling in hands-on subjects, particularly art. This eventually led me to leave school at the age of 16 to start art college, starting with fine art, but soon I learnt I was better at designing for a purpose, so I went into the world of graphic design. Finally found something I absolutely loved, which can get you a career!

This is me

So combining my love for graphic design and mountain biking, I started stogies as a hobby, making the odd t-shirts/Jerseys for friends while lapping bike parks together, but soon people started asking for some Stogies gear……. And I thought ummmm maybe I'm onto something here 😎

TIME TO PULL YOUR FINGER OUT

In 2024, we made Stogies a limited company, and my dad and I invested (all my savings, a mortgage can wait a bit longer, haha). We got our first batch of 200 t-shirts sent to the house, got the website running and started our socials. Knowing that sales wouldn't start overnight, we thought about what we could do next. Bainstoming commenced!

"I KNOW" let's get an events tent ready and head to all the races in Scotland.

The Stogies Team!

Events time

In 2024, we attended 10 events, from the Scottish Downhill Series and local enduro events in Aberdeenshire.

2025! We attended 19 events, from our first stogies pub takeover in Morzine to Ard Rock bike festival, SDA, SES, Tartan, Clans @ the Croft, Dialled in Downhill. It’s been absolutely nuts as we all still work normal jobs too! Haha, Sam and I also race them all!

Dad aka Mark+ financial director

What a legend our dad is. He comes to all the events and lets us lads race while he makes sales. He also does all the accounts behind the scenes. Without him, we’d be buggered. He also loves pints, so team ethics works well.

Sam aka the handy man

Sam, my little brother, also comes to all the events and races (fast little fu**er) with me and helps with sales. Looking forward, he’s going to be chief of logistics and website maintenance! And new product test dummy.

Abi aka Marketing Magician

Abi is my bestie from when I used to work in Morzine. She is also the Stogies marketer, working hard behind the scenes, to make sure all you good people see what sick new gear we have to offer!

Tracey #MUM, BROTHER BEN and Issy

Mum; artistic support, events top saleswoman , beer chugger and berm basher

Ben; brother, Mullet headed private chef in morzine, spreading stogies across the alps.

Issy; reel making machine and shredlord!

WHERE ARE WE AT NOW?

We are now two years deep into stogies, and we can't be any happier about its progress. We now sponsor a bunch of awesome riders, both racers and casual shredders who love the sport for the fun of it. We are working with multiple shops and teams moving into 2026. Growing our range massively, bringing out lots more great casual wear and technical gear for you all to enjoy with us. We are almost at our 1,000th sale, and honestly can now see the dream coming true!

THANK YOU ALL FOR SUPPORTING US🔥
